FINISHING
The solid wood floorings offered by NFS Ltd. can be finished with both
lacquer and oil which are intended to be used in living quarters and for wooden
floors.
To avoid disappointment, when choosing finishing agents, among other factors,
the intensity and the nature of the future exploitation of the flooring should
also be taken into consideration—for instance, there exists lacquers of very
different strength; an oiled surface can be mended locally and with expedient
means, whereas a worn lacquered surface cannot be mended directly, but the old
lacquer should be fully removed and replaced with the new one.
Please be aware that finished and unfinished surfaces are normally very
different from each other in their hue and appearance, and to avoid the unwanted
results, it is useful to try different finishing agents on sample pieces.
Solid wood flooring is a valuable product, and mistakes made during finishing
process can often be corrected only by means of another finishing. Finishing
requires experience and skills; thus, we recommend you turn to professionals to
have your finishing done.
